My uncle the non-quilter, the one who joined us at the Wisconsin Quilt Expo a few weeks ago, is a genius. Okay, maybe that’s pushing it, but really, he’s very smart when it comes to looking past the product marketing hype. He saw the little wooden pressing tools selling for a couple of bucks, and scoffed. Why pay for a little chunk of wood with an angled edge? Pull apart a spring-type clothespin and use the curved edge instead! You don’t get much cheaper than that.

You know, it works. And it keeps me from hopping up from the machine every few seconds to press a seam. Thanks, Larry!
