Mom helped, of course. She added the borders and then the binding – you know, the stuff that you don’t want to do because it’s boring. She has a much better “finishing” gene than I do.
Not a lot of time to talk, so here are the photos – I’ll let them speak for themselves…
I quilted “Armory” in the top border…
… and “Nunsense 2009” in the bottom border.
I got an excellent response to the quilt, and I can’t wait to see it on the bed. I also received a nice e-mail from Andrea at Electric Quilt, so you may see mention of my quilt on the Electric Quilt blog. How cool is that?! I love EQ6, and it was very useful in creating this quilt. I went back and tweaked borders, tried different fabrics, and used the illustrations to show what the quilt would eventually look like. Amber (costumer) even commented today how much the finished quilt looked like the “rendering” I showed at the beginning.
For anyone in the area… Nunsense is showing at the Armory in Janesville, Wisconsin from September 18th through October 25. See the website for more info.
Absolutely beautiful! Nice touch with the words Armory and Nunsense 2009.
It is beautiful. It is nice that your mom and you can work on a quilt together. I’ll have to get my mom to machine quilt!
Wow, that is beautiful. I think the quilt will have a definite staring role in the production – maybe steal the show?
It looks gorgeous. Nicely done!
[…] Part 3: “Sister’s Choice quilt is finished!” […]
Congratulations, your quilt is simply gorgeous.
BEAUTIFUL! I’ve heard the Nunsence is very good, too.
This is beautiful. I am hoping to make one for my sister for her birthday next year.
Do you have a pattern available for this quilt? Or something to give me a point of reference?
