The center of the quilt top is done… maybe. See my error X4? (if you don’t see the error, click on it to go to the Flickr page and hover your cursor over it for a note pointing out the error.)
I hate the thought of taking it apart to fix it, but I also hate the idea that it’s wrong. Somebody give me a kick in the pants to either change it or let it go, otherwise I’ll never finish the thing.
Piecemeal Quilts 
Oh, that’s a tough one! Me? I’d take it apart. It didn’t take me long to find the error, but then again, I knew this design was supposed to be symmetrical.
Unfortunately, I’m one of those freaks who would keep staring at it, kicking myself in the seat of the pants.
As soon as I looked at the photo, it jumped right out. The lack of symmetry was glaring. I just don’t WANT to pick it apart!!! (I’m jumping up and down and waving my fists right now.)
I’m probably the wrong person to ask, I would not work myself up into a tizzy over it at all. You did a great job! It’s beautiful! On the other hand, if it’s going to eat at you forever, then fix it! It depends on your personality, if you can ignore it, or if it’s goign to continue to bother you. 🙂 I love it, though. If someone gave me a quilt like that, I’d never notice the “error” because it’s so breath-takingly beautiful, so I take it in as a whole. 🙂
I would either fix it or dump it…if you don’t fix it , the error is all you will ever see when you look at it…
That is a tough one. I guess I would take it apart.
In my house taking something apart is no big deal as my dh usually ripes out the stitches for me. He can see better than I can.
It is going to be beautiful when you get it done.

Yours is a beautiful piece and I guessed wrong about where the problem might be. If it drives you nuts (and I don’t know what plans you had for this quilt top) then I suggest you find a new home for it.
I think it’s lovely but I can imagine that the minor imperfection might be the only thing you see when you look at it. Good luck!
You have to fix it, otherwise it will drive you ca-razy every time you look at it. Two other solutions would be to give it away or train your cat to sleep on top of the glitch so nobody sees it.
On the other hand, if you hadn’t pointed it out – I just couldn’t see it in that sea of triangles and shades of green. All I saw was a beautiful all over cactus design. I personally wouldn’t fix b/c I know that after I’d quilted it and bound it – I would also have to look hard for it. However, humans being as we are – different – then it’s up to you.
You cannot see the error! I think it looks beautiful and I would not touch it. However, I do know how these things can eat at you, so do what makes you happy. You could try and run an experiment and take it to your local guild meeting and ask if anyone can spot the error….I betcha no one does!!
Well, now that you pointed out the error everyone is looking for it. What are you doing with this quilt? Machine quilting an all over and then washing it and using it as a decorator throw during the holidays? Life’s too short to fix it. However, if it’s a gift, if you are custom quilting it, if you are hanging it on a wall, then yes, I would fix all the green sections that are turned. Its your quilt, your choice. It’s also an amazing quilt, love the scrappy coloring and design.
I agree with everybody up above. If it’s going to bugg the bejeezus out of you, rip it out and fix it. If you don’t want to do that and just want to toss it – e-mail me and I’ll give you my snail mail address. Believe me! It will NEVER both me that the error is there. I’ll cherish that baby every single day. Now, is it selfish of me to hope and pray you’re going to toss it and thereby e-mail and ask for my address? Oh dear! I think most everyone that commented already said it. If it is going to drive you insane and in years to come if you think you will always be saying, “I wish I would have fixed that”…then I’d fix it. Otherwise, no one will even know. Christmas Cactus’ are all prickly and stuff so you can chalk it up to that.

most people wouldn’t see it: but it would bug me. I would just take out those 4 squares and hand stitch them back while watching The Mentalist
