Christmas Cactus Quilt Along?

I’ve been in a bit of a dither about the Christmas Cactus pattern. On the one hand, I’d like to sell it at the local shops (two did express interest two YEARS ago when I first showed them illustrations), but it’s getting kind of late for the season. On the other hand it would make a fabulous quilt along… if anyone was interested in quilting along. Of course, mine is finished, which is good, because I probably wouldn’t have been good about quilting along. If there’s any interest, I would post fabric requirements, cutting, and preliminary piecing info (how many of which half square triangles), then post each of the 25 nine patch blocks, one per day. A dedicated follower could finish the quilt by December 1 if I get started right away. I’d leave the posts on my blog until December 31, then I’d remove them and put it together into PDF form for sale.

Of course, this is all dependent on the interest level from readers. What do you think? Would anyone participate? Just a reminder:

  1. I, too, would like to play but given the physical set up of my home and computer, I need each step in PDF to print and carry to my sewing room…blogs are hard to print…

  2. It is a gorgeous quilt. I would love to make it but I know I would not get it done at the moment. I have a lot on but I just wanted to let you know it is a beautiful quilt.

  3. You know I’m in! I’d love to wait until January or February, since I seem to have overcommitted myself for holiday crafting (whatta surprise), but I’m in if you decide to proceed. You could make the PDFs available for short-term download, and then present pix of our finished quilts to the shops as a selling point!
